Presentation format

Information for Oral Presentations (General Presentations), Symposia, and Award Lectures

  1. Each oral presentation (general presentation) at the discussion session will last 20 minutes: 15 minutes for the presentation (a warning buzzer will sound at the end of 12 minutes) and 5 minutes for the discussion and change of presenters. Please be punctual. Symposium presenters and award-winning speakers will be contacted separately. The language for presentations and Q&A sessions should be either English or Japanese.
  2. All presentations will be given using an LCD projector, so please prepare slides using PowerPoint or other presentation software. We ask for your cooperation in using English as the language of the slide screen so that international students and participants from overseas can understand the content of your presentation.
  3. Speakers are requested to prepare their own computers for their presentations. 10 minutes of preparation time will be allotted for each of the three or four presentations. During this time, speakers are requested to connect their computers to the designated terminals and make sure that they are properly projected from the LCD projector. HDMI will be used for computer connections. Please bring your own adapter if necessary.
  4. Please bring a backup file of your presentation slides on a USB memory stick or similar device in case of computer trouble.

Information for Poster Presentations (General Presentations)

  1. 90 cm (W) x 210 cm (H) poster boards will be provided at the venue. The title, name of the research institute, and name of the researcher should be written in English as well as Japanese. The text of the poster may be in either English or Japanese, but if it is in Japanese, please include a summary in English.
  2. The poster poster poster office will provide the necessary pins for displaying posters at the reception desk in the poster room. Poster award applicants must pick up a ☆ identification mark for judging at the registration desk and display it on their poster.
  3. Posters can be displayed from the day of presentation until 9:00 a.m.
  4. 1P#-### is from 12:50 to 14:50 on 18th, and 3P#-### is from 12:50 to 14:50 on 20th, 120 minutes. However, poster award applicants will have all of the time (120 minutes) for explanation and presentation. Please do not leave the area in front of your poster during this time as it will be judged. (If you are not present at the time of judging, your poster will not be considered for judging.)
