Transportation Guide
Trains and Subways in Nagoya
Nagoya has several train and subway operators, but the ticketing system is unified. By purchasing a prepaid IC card (such as manaca, Suica, or ICOCA), you can use almost all trains, subways, and buses with touch payment. These cards are also valid at many shops and convenience stores. Cards are available at Chubu Centrair International Airport and major stations.

Main Train Connections
- Shinkansen (Bullet Train): Operated by JR, connecting Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka.
- Airport Access: Meitetsu Railway operates the line between Centrair Airport and Nagoya Station.
- Subway: Nagoya City operates the Higashiyama Line (yellow) and the Meijo Line (purple loop), which are the main lines to reach Nagoya University.

Key Subway Lines to Nagoya University
- Higashiyama Line (Yellow): Connects Nagoya Station (H08), Fushimi (H09), and Sakae (H10) to Motoyama (H16).
- Meijo Line (Purple): From Motoyama (M17), take one stop to Nagoya Daigaku Station (M18), the nearest station to the venue.

Directions to the Conference Venue (EI Building)
- From Centrair Airport (via Nagoya Station, ~1–1.5 h): Take the Meitetsu Airport Line (μSky or Limited Express) to Nagoya Station. Then transfer to the Higashiyama Line to Motoyama, and from there take the Meijo Line to Nagoya Daigaku Station (Exit 3).
- From Centrair Airport (via Kanayama Station, ~1–1.5 h): Take the Meitetsu Airport Line to Kanayama Station, then transfer to the Meijo Line and continue to Nagoya Daigaku Station (Exit 3).
- From central Nagoya (Nagoya, Sakae, or Fushimi Stations, ~30 min): Take the Higashiyama Line bound for Fujigaoka to Motoyama, then transfer to the Meijo Line for one stop to Nagoya Daigaku Station (Exit 3).

Note:
For most public transportation in Nagoya, nationwide IC cards such as Suica and Pasmo can be used, in addition to the local Manaca card. These cards are valid on subways, city buses, Meitetsu trains, and JR lines, making them convenient for travel between hotels, the conference venue, and the airport. If you do not already have an IC card, purchasing a Manaca card locally is also a good option.
