I made many friends at the Summer School. They taught me various things. Thank you very much. After the Summer School, I would like to come back to Japan to teach English and see my Japanese friends. Japan is blessed with lush natural environments. Rivers in Gujo are the most beautiful! I made new friends with tutors, Japanese people and international students. They are the kindest people. I am thankful for them.
What I enjoyed most was the home stay program. My host family was very kind to me. They showed me Japanese culture. They took me to various art museums. I went to a hot spring with my host mother. I had sashimi at our family party. I relished shopping in Takayama. My host grandmother gave me chopsticks. I read English books with my host father at home. Because his and my birthdays are close together, we ate a birthday cake. I enjoyed the Summer School very much. When I came to Japan last time, I was afraid to speak in Japanese, but not now. Having acquired knowledge at the Summer School, I would like to come back to Japan next year. I hope to see my friends again.
I participated in the Gujo Odori dance. I am very glad that I had the experience of coming into contact with a culture indigenous to Gujo Hachiman, Japan. The Summer School exceeded my expectations. It was far beyond what I expected. A wide range of unique programs were available. I am glad that I had various experiences that I cannot have in South Korea. At first, I felt one month was too long, but now I feel that the month went by fast. It was a memorable month. I will recommend Gifu University’s Summer School to my juniors.
The greatest thing about the Summer School is that I met my new friends. I was worried about whether I could make friends in Japan, but now I am not worried at all. Everyone I met in Japan is a nice person. Tutors, teachers, other students and my host family are all kind. I learned a lot from them by doing various things, visiting many places, and having good food together. I have a complex feeling about the Summer School. I had both fun and boring times. I was pleased when I met people, and sad when saying goodbye to them. All these experiences have turned to good memories. I would like to participate in the Summer School again if possible.
The Gujo program was the most memorable for me because I made many good memories. I met a wonderful host family, did what I had wanted to do, and studied Japanese culture. I cannot forget these experiences. I still have things I would like to do, but there is not enough time. This makes me a little sad. However, I am glad that I had a variety of experiences and made new friends over the last month. “I will come back, if possible” – this is what I want to say in this essay. Thanks to tutors, I enjoyed the Summer School very much. I am thankful for them because they took me to various places, held parties, and helped me whenever I had a hard time. Teachers taught me many things. In addition, I made friends with people from different countries. We taught each other about our own countries. It was a good experience.
