Applicants must be formally enrolled in one of our exchange universities.
Classes are for the students who have attained a beginning level of Japanese language proficiency (equivalent to the N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test: 300 study hours and 300 basic kanji).
Gifu University's off-campus accommodation facility is located on a top of a hilltop in a traditional residential area surrounded by a bamboo forest. The building has Japanese-style tatami rooms for use as individual bedrooms, plus a large common room, dining room, kitchen, are fully equipped with showers and air-conditioned. Participants are expected to live there with Japanese students who will support the participants. They use public buses to go to the campus during the program.
The above fee does not include food etc.
If fewer than 20 applicants enroll, the fee per person might be increased.
If fewer than 10 applicants enroll, the Summer School may not be conducted. In this case, the paid fee will be reimbursed.
The cost for health and accident insurance is the participant's responsibility. Applicants are urged to join a health/accident insurance prior to their departure.
