How does half life of reporter proteins influence transcriptional response? (3)
If mRNA accumulation is controlled by the circadian rhythm, reporter response will be as follows.
As seen, both reporters show oscillation with the same amplitude and almost the same phase. The difference is basal level, and this affects relative amplitude. High basal level (green) results in low relative amplitude, and it makes detection of oscillation difficult. On the other hand, low basal level leads easily detectable oscillation (yellow).
