This program enables young people to experience a year in an overseas university without financial burden. Some scholarships are available to promote this program. The program offers many things, a once-in-a- life-time experience for students. You will gain insight into a different culture, and learn how to deal with different peoples and situations. Many developed countries, particularly European and Australian universities, regard study abroad as one of the most important and needed areas of university education. Therefore a year in an overseas university is not a waste of time as some academics argue, but rather a rich addition to the regular education. The ultimate goal of the study abroad program is to promote mutual understanding, cross-cultural literacy, and world peace.
Exchange students from our sister universities will be assigned to one of our five faculties: Education, Regional Studies, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine. If the student’s Japanese proficiency level is not sufficient for faculty lectures (normally level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test), students can take an intensive Japanese language course or other type of Japanese language classes offered by the International Student Center (See the section on Japanese Language Courses).
