  Generally, international students can be classified into three main types, namely Undergraduates, Graduates (or Postgraduates) and Research Students. Admission requirements are different for Privately-financed International Students and Japanese Government Scholarship Students.

  For Admission as Japanese Government Scholarship Student, application can be made from overseas as well as within Japan (domestic application). Applicants from overseas can be divided into two categories, either through recommendations from the Japan embassy in your country or a university in Japan. Please take note that the requirements stated here are mainly for Admission as Privately-financed International Students.
