Admissons policy for Graduate Programs

[Curriculum and Research Goals]

  Aims of the current curriculum and research of the Graduate School of Applied Biological Sciences include contributions to the sustainability of human existence and improvement of the environment in which we live, as well as application of theory and technology in biological life sciences. We train fresh minds in the fields of food safety and supply, restoration and preservation of nature and our environment, and the production of “super-foods” for promotion of health. We strive to nurture and expand students’ minds and teach them to thrive and be competitive in tomorrow’s world.

 The Graduate School of Applied Biological Sciences accepts students trained in the fundamentals of the field and guides them to master both theory and technique. In addition to the master’s degree programs, we also offer a doctoral program through the United Graduate School of Agriculture.


[Desired applicants include the following:]

1. People with broad perspectives who actively pursue knowledge and development of skills in their field of study.

2. People who are willing to learn and are able to apply learned knowledge to the betterment of society.


 Applicants will be admitted in three categories: General Admittance for those who have completed undergraduate studies and meet the above two conditions, Special Recommendation Admittance for those with superior grades and a high love of learning, and Special Admittance for international exchange students and those currently active in the work force.
