Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Fumitoshi Shibahara was born in Nara, Japan on July 17, 1974. He received a B.S. degree in industrial chemistry in 1997 from Doshisha University. He joined Professor Tamejiro Hiyama's group at Kyoto University as a Doctor course student in 1997. He obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Kyoto University in 2003 under the guidance of Professor Kyoko Nozaki (She moved to the University of Tokyo in 2002.) and the supervision of Professor Hiyama. During this period, he worked as a research fellow in Professor Nozaki group attached to JST for two and a half years from Octorber 2000. In April 2003, he joined Professor Toshiaki Murai's group at Gifu University as an assistant professor. During this period, he visited Professor Michael J. Keische's group at University of Texas at Austin as Donald D. Harrington Faculty Fellow from September 2007 to August 2008. He promoted to an associate professor in 2013.

His research interests are 1)Organic synthesis, 2)Asymmetric synthesis, and 3)Catalytic transformation of the bulk materials to the fine chemicals.
